Maik Lang is an Associate Professor and is the Pietro F. Pasqua Fellow in the Department of Nuclear Engineering at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville. Professor Lang’s research interests lie in the application of synchrotron-based techniques for understanding how intense ion irradiation affects the structures and properties of complex oxides, with the goal of informing the development of methods for nuclear waste immobilization.
The work in Professor Lang's group contributes primarily to CDAC Science Thrust 2: Complex Materials and Thrust 5: Defects and Ion Irradiation.
