About
Susannah Dorfman is an Associate Professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Michigan State University. Professor Dorfman carries out laboratory experiments designed to explore the effects of high pressures and temperatures on the properties and phase equilibria of a wide variety of planetary materials, as well as the redox state of Earth’s mantle. She also investigates the fundamental aspects of material strength and deformation at extreme conditions.
Professor Dorfman's work contributes to the following CDAC Science Thrust areas: Thrust I: Thermomechanical Extremes and Thrust II. Chemical and Material Extremes.
